About

In this session, we’ll explore how the way we interpret situations can shape our child’s behaviour, and how the fight or flight response plays an important role in how children react in the moment. We’ll look at six common causes behind behaviour and how children may respond to them: Frustration Feeling things are unfair (injustice) Feeling threatened Unmet needs Past experiences Social learning (what they have seen or learned from others) By the end of the session, you will be able to: Better understand what may be driving the child’s behaviour Respond more calmly and effectively in the moment Feel more confident supporting the child through challenging situations
