Delivered by Jane Keyworth BSc(Hons)

Following on from Anger 1: Understanding Anger and Anger 2: Preventing Angry Behaviour, this session, explores how the way we interpret situations can shape ur obehaviour, and how the Fight or Flight response plays an important role in how children (and parents!) react in the moment.

This session aims to:

  • Look at six common causes behind behaviour and how children may respond to them:

    Frustration
    Feeling things are unfair (injustice)
    Feeling threatened
    Unmet needs
    Past experiences
Social learning (what they have seen or learned from others)

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Better understand what may be driving the child’s behaviour.

  • Respond more calmly and effectively in the moment.

  • Feel more confident supporting the child through a challenging situation.
