Raising Self-Esteem

Protecting and raising self-esteem in ourselves and our children.

0rp

Delivered by Jane Keyworth BSc(Hons)

In this session, we will explore the important concept of self-esteem and why it plays such a key role in a child’s wellbeing and development. Together, we will take time to reflect on personal strengths and the positive qualities that help shape a strong sense of self.

We will also look at what can impact self-esteem — both the factors that can lower it and those that help protect and build it. From there, we’ll share practical, supportive ways to nurture and strengthen self-esteem in everyday situations.

Finally, we’ll introduce the importance of SMART goals, showing how clear, achievable steps can help children build confidence, experience success, and continue to grow in a positive direction.

This session aims to:

  • Explore the concept of self-esteem

  • Refect on positive personality traits

  • Introduce strategies for protecting and raising self-esteem

By the end of this session you will:

  • Have a range of tools and strategies to help your child identify their positive personality traits and to recognise and turn around  their 'unhelpful thinking' patterns.

  • Understand the value of, and be able to support your child in building their own SMART goals.
