Delivered by Jane Keyworth BSc(Hons)

Lots of people have heard about SMART goals but do you know how useful they are?

This talk explores how motivation and behaviour change work, and how setting the right kind of goals can make a real difference.

We’ll introduce what SMART goals are and look at how they can support both self-esteem and anxiety, helping children feel more confident and in control.

This session aims to:

  • Define what makes a goal a SMART goal.

  • Explain why SMART goals are important when considering behaviour change.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Know how to create your own SMART goal.

  • Be able to support your child in setting and working towards their own SMART goals.

  • understand how goal-setting can be used as a tool to build confidence and reduce anxiety.
